Participants urged to take maximum advantage of subsidized loans under PMFME scheme

An awareness camp about awareness on PMFME scheme was held today here at Bachat Bhawan wherein officials from across several departments urged individuals/self help groups and farmers produce organisations to take maximum benefit of this scheme. Over 75 participants including micro food processing enterprises, member of self help groups, representatives of farmer producer organisations, budding enterpreneure and officials of banks and relevant department attended the program. Various components of the scheme including 35% subsidy, Rs. 10 lakh to Rs 3 crore to FPOs/FPCs/SHGs/Producer Cooperative/ Governement Agencies for setting up common infrastructure and processing lines, upto Rs.40000 as seed capital per member of SHG already undertaking food processing activities and free technical and business training and landholding support were discussed at length.
Mr Vibhore Sharma, MOFPI, show-cased a couple of videos of micro enterprises from Punjab who are doing excellent after having availed subsidy under PMFME Scheme during question and answer sessions, doubts of potential beneficiaries with regard to Branding and Marketing component were addressed.
He mentioned that under this scheme over 1800 micro enterprises have so far been sanctioned a total subsidy over 150 crore which in turn have provided job opportunities to over 2500 persons.
Mr. Vibhor Sharma, Media & Public Relations Professional, PMFME Division, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India interacted with the stakeholders and talked about the broader vision of the Ministry for empowering the food processing sector of the country through initiatives like the PMFME Scheme that provide financial, technical and business support across the entire food processing value chain.
Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Rakesh Kansal, GM, DIC; Sarabjit Singh, Lead District Manager, Rajnish Tuli State Lead Project Manager; Eisha Jassal, Head Food Processing, PAIC and District Co-ordinators of Union Bank of India, PNB and senior functionaries of department of Skill Development & Training, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana.
